Stock Island has many resorts, hotels and inns, including the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, and the newer Perry Hotel Key West. For our clients, we recommend booking at the Ocean’s Edge Resort and Marina, where our slip is located, for the most convenience.

Stock Island is about 576 acres across, most of it residential neighborhoods and resort property, although some land has been set aside for nature preserves and historic sites.

Stock Island offers a variety of places to eat; some, like el Siboney or The Hogfish Grill, are great places for local flavor, while other restaurants, such as Matt’s Kitchen located in the Perry Hotel, offer upscale and trendy eats for visitors from out of town. There are also fast-food favorites like Dunkin’ Donuts and Sonic located on the island. 

If you want to lay down the fishing rod for a while, there’s plenty of other activities, events, and sights to see on Stock Island. History buffs can visit the Hemingway Home and Museum or the Truman Little White House, while more adventurous spirits can sign up for snorkeling, scuba diving, paragliding, birdwatching, or even tiki cruises at various spots around the island. And kids will love visiting the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center and the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory.
