Safety is our top priority at Fish Daily Charters. In the event of bad weather, our captain will work with you to reschedule your fishing trip or issue you a full refund.
What is your payment policy?
A 20% deposit will be taken at the time of booking (cash or credit cards only). The balance of your payment will be charged at the end of your charter.
What does the price of one of your charters include?
A 20% upfront deposit is included with every charter. A 20% tip is customary for our hard-working crew at the conclusion of your trip.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask you to notify us of any cancellations at least 2 weeks ahead of your arrival.
Should I tip my crew after my journey?
Our crew works hard to provide you with a great Sugarloaf Key experience. A 20% tip is customary.
Are fishing gear and bait included in the charter?
You bet! We provide all the gear, bait, and tackle, so you don’t have to!
Is a fishing license required for charter guests in Key West?
No worries, we cover everything. Guests aboard a licensed charter do not need a separate fishing license of their own.
What should I bring on my fishing trip?
We recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, non-slip shoes, a hat, and light layers of clothing for any change in weather conditions. You can also bring a camera and any drinks or snacks you might want!

The Heavy Hitter accommodates six persons total (including crew.)
Is it okay if this is my first time fishing?
Of course! Our crew is happy to guide you in the ways of fishing.
What kind of fishing does your crew specialize in?
Reef and wreck fishing are our specialty, which targets bottom-dwelling species such as barracuda, grouper, shark, and permit to name a few – but we are capable of deepwater and inshore charters as well.
What kind of payments do you accept?
Credit card or cash only. We take a 20% deposit at the time of booking.
Is there parking at your marina?
Parking is available at our marina, no charge.
Can I bring my service dog with me?
Bring a leash or harness in case they need to be restrained, but yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Is your boat handicap accessible?
If you speak to our crew, we can see about modifying our boat to suit any special needs for your charters.
Are there restrooms aboard the boat?
Unfortunately, there are no restrooms aboard the boat. So plan accordingly.
What happens if I get seasick?
Our crew can guide the boat to calmer waters or take you back to shore, but we stress that refunds due to seasickness are not possible.
Should I bring my own fishing gear?
You can bring your own gear if you want, but we do provide all the gear and equipment you might need as part of your charter package.
Am I guaranteed to catch something?
There are no guarantees in Mother Nature, especially if you’re going after a specific species, but we can pretty much always find something big to reel in – the Florida Keys have an abundance of marine life.
Do I need to know how to swim?
It’s not necessary (but please let us know if this is the case.) No one has ever fallen overboard on our charters, and we provide safety equipment and life jackets for all our guests.
Are you located on an island?
We are based out of Stock Island on the western part of the Florida Keys.
Can you sell any fish that I don’t want to keep?
Sorry, but we (or you) cannot sell fish we catch; it’s illegal.
What times do we leave?
We can take off anytime between 6am to 4pm, depending on what works best for you! Our Sunset Cruises embark shortly before sunset.
Are sandals allowed onboard?
Sandals are fine. But please avoid black-soled shoes if you can, to avoid damaging the boat.
What kind of tackle do you use?
We are always trying out new products on our boat, but right now we use Vance’s spinning tackle, as well as a variety of Shimano, Accurate, and Penn for bottom tackles,
Is alcohol allowed on the boat?
We do not allow glass bottles onboard, but alcohol is permitted for anyone of legal drinking age.
Do you provide water on your trip?
We do provide water for our guests, as hydration in the tropics is very important.
Are snacks provided?
Yes, but it’s usually just a small variety of random snacks. Feel free to bring any snacks you might want.
How far out to sea do we travel on a trip?
When the large fish move away from shore in winter, the journey out might be twenty miles. When the fish come into shore in summer, our journey would only be five miles out. Specialty trips, such as to the Dry Tortugas, can take us up to seventy miles out.
Are gas prices included on your specialty trips?
We don’t surprise our guests with any hidden fees during or after their charter. Our fuel surcharges, if any, are included up front with the total.
How fast does your boat go?
We usually go at about 35 to 38 miles per hour to and from the fishing grounds.
Are children allowed on your fishing trips?
All ages are welcome.
How many seats are on your boat?
There are two seats for guests in the bow of the boat, and we can bring bean bags for any additional persons.
Is there a cooler on board?
Yes, it can store any of your snacks and drinks.
What should I NOT bring?
Absolutely NO illegal drugs or glass containers.
Can we go for a swim during our charter?
If the conditions are okay, you are welcome to ask our crew to stop somewhere for a dip.
Do you have life jackets on board?
Life jackets are provided for everyone on board.
How far in advance can I make a reservation?
As far out as you like! Name your date.
Can we stay out longer than our allotted time?
Yes, although it may be an additional charge, and ultimately it is up to the crew’s discretion.

That’s a new one to us! But ask us at the time of your booking.

Sorry, but our boat is just not equipped to accommodate guests overnight.
