Why Choose Our Wahoo Fishing Charters?

Fish Daily Charters combines local knowledge with the latest fishing gear and techniques to take our clients directly to where the Key West wahoo are.

Our boat is equipped to troll with bait and lures, the preferred method for catching these fast-moving fish, and our crew knows how to detect the signs, both in the water and in the air, that the wahoo are nearby. We seat six people comfortably on our boat, and all ages are welcome, so you can bring your friends, family – or even your dog – along for the adventure.

With Fish Daily Charters, you’re practically guaranteed to catch some wahoo to take home… or to the table! or to the table! Wahoo are known for their incredible speed, often considered the fastest fish in the ocean, making them an exciting catch for any angler. Their striking blue and silver bodies and sharp teeth make them a prized catch for both their beauty and their delicious firm white flesh.

Let us take you to where these stunning fish dwell and you will leave the Florida Keys with memories to last a lifetime.

About The Wahoo

The wahoo is a big, strong, torpedo-shaped fish that can get up to 8 feet long, with rows of sharp teeth that give it a fearsome appearance. Built for speed, these fish chase their prey with bullet-like intensity, capable of getting up to 48 mph. Their speed and size is matched by their beauty: silver bodies with striking blue bars like tiger stripes make this fish an impressive-looking catch! Their flesh is also known to be very tasty, similar to mackerel, and is fantastic for ceviches and sushi.

How We Catch Wahoo

Since wahoo are so fast, they have no problem chasing down lures and baits trolled from the back of a fast-moving boat, and that’s exactly what we do! Wahoo are open-ocean fish, but like to congregate around surface objects like buoys, seaweed clumps, or even oil rigs.

Once we find a good spot, it’s just a matter of cruising back and forth at about 15-20 knots (which sounds fast, but is a great speed for getting wahoo’s attention) with our lines in the water until we get a hit. Once hooked, wahoo are legendary for their fighting, especially on the first run, so be ready for a drawn-out fight with these muscular predators!

Although wahoo can be found here year-round, the best time for hooking them is typically around November to February, when they move closer to shore to stay warm and find food. If you’re looking to escape to the Keys for the holidays, that’s a perfect time to cast your line for these magnificent fish.
